The Opportunity

RPS has a permanent full-time opportunity for an experienced Director to join our Infrastructure-focused Deal Advisory Team in Europe (with flexible location). We are seeking highly motivated individuals looking to:

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Advice
Support the RPS Global Deal Advisory leadership team in delivering an existing, large pipeline of work, and supporting our ambitions to significantly grow the scale of our team in Europe: providing high quality advice on complex due diligence assignments, utilizing the best of our in-house capabilities, and leveraging external partners and collaborators.

Business Development
Support the development and growth of our Global Deal Advisory practice (with centres in Australia, Singapore and the UK), which provides commercially focused technical due diligence for infrastructure, energy transition and renewable-energy projects on behalf of long-term investors, developers, lenders and public agencies.

This includes:
client relationships – utilising our existing, European network of clients, together with your personal market reputation in infrastructure sector to identify and win new business;
collaborate with our broader RPS and TetraTech experts, in providing insightful and high-quality advice to our clients;
coordinating the development of work winning proposals and in the direct leadership and delivery of project assignments;
working alongside our RPS and TetraTech colleagues in developing winning proposals, on a joined-up basis, in areas such as ESG advisory, sustainability, renewable energy, digital, water, telecommunications, cyber and others;
supporting in team leadership, training, mentoring and hiring.You will be an integral part of the management team and advising on growth of the business.

Deal Advisory/ M&A Due Diligence
Our Global Deal Advisory team has an extensive network of clients, across the infrastructure sector, including infrastructure funds, lenders, developers and relevant public agencies.

Together with your own client relationships, you will be responsible for winning new infrastructure technical and commercial due diligence engagements; building teams and delivering successful commercial outcomes for our clients and ourselves.

You will help our clients to win, in their bids to acquire complex M&A infrastructure assets, by leveraging the best of RPS and TetraTech expertise to deliver value upsides, operational insights and risk mitigation strategies.

You will be the senior Director responsible for a client engagement, from start to finish and we expect a hands-on approach to delivering the project, including managing the team; quality review and ongoing client engagement.

Interact directly with our clients to support the delivery of a high-quality service and deliverables, while demonstrating the RPS Behaviours

Business Management
Support the overall management of RPS Group’s business including:
personnel – providing support and mentoring to junior team members and identify suitable recruitment targets; and
commercial management of your projects, and delivery of the growth business plan for Global Deal Advisory.
participating in and leading business development initiatives and playing an active role in promoting a collaborative and inclusive culture of work.

Qualifications Required
a strong network and personal recognition in the areas of renewable energy, utilities, water, energy-transition technologies, telecommunications (incl. towers, fibre, data centres), power generation, nuclear;
proven experience in infrastructure M&A/ technical due diligence;
tertiary qualifications in Commerce / Finance, Law, Engineering, Project Management, Quantity Surveying or other relevant area;
demonstrated ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team and work co-operatively with people at all levels, to achieve the required outcomes;
experience with major infrastructure transactions with varying contracting models;
a strong understanding and proven experience with stakeholder management and governance processes, including relevant Government agencies;
ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to multi-disciplinary audiences, including senior executive-level clients; and
excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
