About the Global Infrastructure Forum
The Global Infrastructure (GI) Forum was established as part of the Addis Ababa Action Agenda adopted at the Third International Conference on Financing for Development in 2015. Held now for the fourth time since 2016, the GI Forum is the product of a collaboration of the Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs) to help bridge the infrastructure gap in developing countries, a key for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The GI Forum was held this year on 6-8 October, hosted by EBRD and organised by IPFA. and brought together members of the infrastructure community to take part in discussions on enhancing the development and delivery of infrastructure worldwide.
Forum objectives
- Enhance coordination among multilateral development banks and their development partners to better develop sustainable, accessible, resilient, and quality infrastructure for emerging countries.
- Focus on how governments and their working partners can attract more resources for infrastructure.
- In the context of COVID-19, there will be a focus on ‘building back better’ through resiliency and mitigation of future pandemic impacts.
